Returning to Triathlon, The Great Balancing Act

A Heaven on Earth Home, is a constant balancing act; taking care of the family, maintaining the home and garden, preparing nutritious and tasty meals (that EVERYONE likes!) and unfortunately last on the list is taking care of the body. It should be first priority, but it’s so easy to let other responsibilities take precedent. For the past three years we’ve done just that…let everything else come first.

After finishing Ironman Florida in November of 2006 we were burned out and decided to take time off from triathlon training for a while. This summer it was time to pay the piper. Ouch!! Our progress has been slow (I mean real slow…creepy crawly slow), but when you’re starting at the bottom, the only way to go is up. We still have a loooooong way to go to get back into Ironman shape but today we took a step in the right direction by competing in the Reeds Lake Triathlon (.5M Swim, 17M Bike, 5M Run). Our results were not stellar, but we finished and for that I am grateful.
This great balancing act continues…!
