DIY Festive Holiday Floral Arrangements on FOX-17

Make holiday arrangements, like this, in a snap
using mostly items from your garden!

Emily Richett, Feature Reporter, for FOX-17 joined me in my home recently to learn how to create cost effective, festive holiday arrangements using mostly items from the yard.

Once these beautiful arrangements are complete, only the lilies will have to freshened weekly. The greens, Eucalyptus, Hypericum, Silver Bells and ivy will last for weeks if you keep topping off the water, on a daily basis. Change all the water once a week and add a teaspoon of bleach along with a teaspoon of sugar and give all live stems (except ivy) a fresh, diagonal cut, this allows for maximum water absorption. The ivy will start growing roots. You’ll be able to use that in arrangements all winter, then plant it outside next spring and keep the dried Lotus blossom for use next holiday season.
