A raw apple cider vinegar steam bath, one cure for the common cold. |
When one of us has head and chest congestion, twice-a-day raw apple cider vinegar (ACV) steam baths are standard operating procedure around the Drake house. It’s inexpensive and it works!
Boil one pot of filtered water and pour over 1 C of raw ACV in a large bowl. Drape a towel over your head to trap the steam and breath deeply through your nose and mouth.
The malic acid present in ACV has antibacterial properties and the acetic acid also present in ACV has antimicrobial properties. Inhaling the dilute steam into your sinuses and lungs will help get rid of whatever has decided to take up temporary residence in your upper repertory system leaving you with a bad case of the “Icks”.
Once the steam subsides but the water is still warm, transfer the liquid to another container and soak your feet until the water cools completely. This lets your skin absorb some of the beneficial properties that ACV has to offer. Not to mention, when you’re sick…this part feels like HEAVEN!
From our home to yours…
In good health!
