Lilies make a cost effective floral arrangement because they can last for over two weeks. However after lily blooms open, the pollen can create a mess on furniture and it can easily stain fabric.
Simple Solution: A Pipe Cleaner |
To prevent any mishaps, remove the messy anthers (long orange pollen dust-covered thingies) with a damp cloth then use a pipe cleaner to brush the residual pollen from the flower petals (above photo, right side is pollen-free).
Voila…Lily White! |
For next time; wash the pipe cleaner, rinse, dry and repeat!

Great idea. I usually cut them off but then the flower looks amputated :O
