Here’s a healthy secret, this summer when you’re craving ice cream, eat smarter by making your own. Don’t worry, you don’t need a fancy ice cream maker. This recipe is dairy-free and gluten-free too. You can make this protein packed chocolate ice cream in your blender. Enjoy this rich frozen dessert immediately and guilt-free if you always treat treats like a treat.
Protein Packed Chocolate Ice Cream
Makes 1 pint
dairy-free + gluten-free
Ingredients:
2 bananas, frozen
1 cup pecans
3/4 cup chocolate protein shake (or cacao powder)
1/4 cup sugar if using a protein shake, 1/2 cup sugar if using cacao powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
1-2 cups of ice
Preparation:
Place all ingredients in a high-speed blender (I like the new blender by Wolf Gourmet), and blend until the consistency of soft serve ice cream.
mTip:
Pour into an ice-cream maker if a firmer consistency is preferred.
