STOP! In the Name of LOVE…

STOP using artificial dyes for Valentine’s Day.
In the name of LOVE,
use Mother Nature’s bounty instead!

Clockwise from top:
Red globe grapes. red wine, tomatos, beets, raspberries,
dried hibiscus flowers, pomegranate seeds, sun-dried tomatos,
red bell peppers, cherries, strawberries, watermelon
& tart cherry concentrate

Tomorrow, treat all of your Valentines, the big and the small, to some creative Valentine’s Day culinary surprises. Avoid using artificial food coloring which has been linked to health issues like hyperactivity in children, allergies and asthema and look to Mother Nature for your red and pink food dyes this year.

She’ll not only serve up vibrant pinks and reds for the party, her palette is packed with fiber, vitamins and minerals. Plus, you know Mama is gonna slip in other healthy things like lycopene (found in red bell peppers, tomatos and watermelons), which may reduce the risk of prostate cancer and polyphenols (found in red grapes and red wine), which neutralize free radicals and may inhibit inflammation. What’s not to LOVE about that?
